Wednesday, 3 May 2023 - 5.00pm
Location:
Faculty of Law, B16

The Cambridge Forum for Legal & Political Philosophy will host a public lecture on Wednesday, May 3rd, at 5:00pm, in Room B16 of the Law Faculty Building.  The lecture, 'Against Race Essentialism', will be delivered by Tomiwa Owolade as he presents some of the ideas developed in his soon-to-be-published book This is Not America.  Everyone is welcome to attend the lecture.

Tomiwa Owolade is the author of the forthcoming book This is Not America (due to be published in June of this year), which explains why we shouldn't look at race in Britain through an American perspective. The book has been listed as a non-fiction highlight of 2023 in the Times, the Guardian, the Observer, the New Statesman and the Irish Times.

Mr Owolade writes about social, cultural and literary issues for the New Statesman, The Times, the Sunday Times, the Observer, UnHerd and the Evening Standard. He has also appeared on BBC Radio 4 and Times Radio to discuss politics and current affairs.
